VILAC

This historic village, located at an altitude of 1,047, on the edge of the plain at Mont, enjoys fantastic views over the landscape of Vielha, the slopes of Sarraèra and the banks of the Nere river. The villages most interesting sights include the church of Sant Fèlix de Vilac, a Romanesque church dating from the 12th and 13th centuries, with an interesting portal whose tympanum is one of the few in the Val d’Aran to include figures. In the interior there are a number of neoclassical sculptures and altarpieces, as well as a Romanesque baptismal font. Some of the village houses have lintels dating from the 1700s, and it is still possible to see large townhouses with wide balconies and wooden coffered ceilings.
