VAL DE VARRADÒS – SAUT DETH PISH

The walk can be reached from Arròs or Vilamòs.
TYPE:
CAR TRIP + EASY WALK
TYPE OF LANDSCAPE: WATERFALL

An impressive waterfall at the end of the Varradòs valley, with spectacular views over the Maladeta range. The Varradòs river flows down a narrow valley, at the head of which we find the waterfall of the Saut deth Pish, one of the most beautiful spots in the Val d’Aran and one of the most celebrated waterfalls in the Pyrenees.

Access is easy, via a forest track that makes its way up the Val de Varradòs to the Plan des Artiguetes, where you reach a landscape of meadows surrounded by an amphitheatre of high mountains. At your feet the waterfall tumbles down a drop of 35 metres, putting the final touch to this bucolic mountain scene.

Interesting facts:

The waters of the Sauth deth Pish originate in the Unhòla river, and after disappearing into the sinkhole or Er Embut, they remerge here to create this dazzling waterfall.

In the landscape, thickly covered in vegetation, the fir trees that line the Siesso gorge stand out, their dark greens contrasting with the beech trees as they show off their changing colours in autumn.
