PICNIC AREA: MIRADOR RIBÈRA DE SALIENT
Located in the central part of the valley, this is a magnificent viewpoint over the whole of Vielha. The forest track that sets out from Vilac leads up to altitudes over 2,000 m. This allows the visitor to enjoy views over wide alpine meadows, and to reach peaks like Tuc d’Arenho or Pincèla, at 2,546 m, without excessive effort. 5 km from Vilac there is the Mirador Ribèra deth Salient, which has been converted into a picnic area surrounded by red pines, with spectacular views over Vielha.
Interesting facts:
· From the viewpoint, following the same track for around an hour, you will eventually arrive at the Lac de Vilac. It’s the perfect place if you’re hoping to escape the crowds at other beauty spots, as it is far less well-known – although no less beautiful.
